Survivors include his beloved wife, Shirley, with whom he recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary and who he often said marrying was his greatest accomplishment; his loving children, Richard (Darlene) of Westland, Michigan; Sherry (Edward Frederick) of Brownstown, Michigan and Ronnie (Amy) of Broxton; three adored grandchildren, Dennis, Lynn (Jason) Hubenschmidt and Emily; and two great-grandchildren, Brady Hubenschmidt and Anderson (A.J.) Hubenschmidt. Mr. Dockery also leaves nephews P.L. Mr. Dockery also leaves many other nieces and nephews both in Georgia and throughout the country. He was preceded in death by three brothers, John (“Junior”) Dockery, Raymond Dockery and Roy Dockery and an infant sister, Etta Jo.

Mr. Dockery was a Korean War Veteran and spent many years in Michigan but his heart and soul never left Broxton and he returned upon his retirement from General Motors in 1983.
