Coffee County Schools announce district spelling bee winners

The Coffee County School District Spelling Bee was held in the Coffee Middle School Auditorium Wednesday, February 3 at 9 a.m. After a welcome from Coffee High Counselor Angelique Austin and a reading of the rules and regulations by Assistant Superintendent Dr. Bernie Evans, participants from Coffee Middle School and each of the county’s eight elementary schools began competing.

Awards were presented by Mr. Tim Carswell to the winners: Bennett Bush- Champion; Carson Neely- Runner-up; Cailey Martinez- 3rd place. Closing remarks were made by Coffee Middle School Assistant Principal Rontee Barnes. 

A special thanks is given to the following sponsors: Coffee County Association of Educators, Ameris Bank, Colony Bank, Harvey’s Supermarket, Harrell’s Funeral Home, CHS Band, CHS Athletic Department, and CHS-Dr. Rowland Cummings.

Congratulations to all who represented their schools by participating or serving as an alternate in the district spelling bee- Ambrose Elementary: Gracelyn Day, Harley Lott, Jenna Smith, Peyton Moore; Broxton Elementary: Gracie Ott, Larenzo Harvey, Parker Womack, Austin Burke; Coffee Middle: Bennett Bush, Cailey Martinez, Dhruv Patel, Vinh Lai; Eastside Elementary: Rylie Williams, Carter Pace, Jymon Collins, Caleb Music; Indian Creek Elementary: Scarlett Davis, Grayson Rockett, Lilah Dixon, Majesty Clemmons; Nicholls Elementary: Shaley Spivey, Ethan Miller, Brayden Anderson, Gage Lee; Satilla Elementary: Branson Bush, Lizbeth Ortiz, Cameron Maldonado, Jamasia Wilcox; West Green Elementary: Cannon Moseley, Kate Merritt, Kasey Merritt, Frankie Banda; Westside Elementary: Carson Neeley, Abby Greer, Zy’Indiah Wiley, and Michaiah Williams.
