A Coffee County man was jailed over the weekend following one of the largest marijuana confiscations in recent Coffee County history.
Sheriff’s officials stated at around 3 a.m., Feb. 12, the Douglas-Coffee Drug Unit (DCDU) and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Southeastern Regional Drug Enforcement Office conducted an operation after several weeks of planning and investigation.
After a search at 4853 Youngie Fussel Rd. in Ambrose, information and evidence was located that led to a search warrant being obtained for 5062 Youngie Fussell Rd. During a search of both residences, approximately 325 pounds of processed marijuana and a marijuana manufacturing operation was discovered.
George Darryl Harper (59) was arrested and charged with trafficking and manufacturing marijuana.
“I want to thank the officers involved in this investigation for their continued efforts and dedication in ridding the drugs and those involved in the drug trade from our community,” Sheriff Doyle Wooten stated.
