It’s hard to believe looking at six-year-old Taylor Smith today that, just a few short years ago, this vibrant child was facing the battle of her lifetime. Taylor underwent open heart surgery in 2011, and she is trying now to raise funds for the American Heart Association to help others facing similar circumstances.
“At my school, I’m learning how I can help make a difference by raising lifesaving donations to help kids with heart disease,” Taylor says. “I’m also learning about my own heart and how to keep it healthy; and I’m getting active! I’m excited about raising money for other kids – kids with hearts that don’t exactly work right and to help fund new medicines and treatments to be discovered.”
Taylor has created a web page to spread her message and enlist others to help with her cause. As of today, she has raised $466 of her $1,000 goal. To donate or find out more, click here.
“I’m joining millions of others to help save lives with the American Heart Association,” Taylor says. “Please help me make a difference! Thank you.”
