Mrs. Levine Purvis Hersey, age 97, of Douglas passed away Saturday evening at her home, February 27, 2016, following a short illness. She was born June 11, 1918 to the late Orrian Purvis and the late Elizabeth Leavens Purvis.

Survivors include: 3 Children: Regina (Rev. Charles) Williams, and Cherry (Clinton) Batten, all of Pearson, Ga., and Kenneth (Sandye) Hersey of Douglas, Ga.; 1 Sister-In-Law: Montene M. Hersey of Bonaire, Ga.; 17 Grandchildren, 21 Great Grandchildren, and 36 Great Great Grandchildren. Several Nieces, Nephews, Friends, and Other Relatives.

Funeral Services will be Tuesday morning, March 1, 2016, at 10:00 A. M., at the Wesley Chapel Baptist Church, with the Internment to follow In the Royals Cemetery, in Atkinson County. Mrs. Hersey will be placed in the Church, Tuesday morning at 9:00 A. M., at lie in state until the funeral hour. The family will begin receiving friends Monday evening from 6:00 to 9:00 P. M., at Ricketson Funeral Home.

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the Arrangements.
