The Coffee County Sheriff’s office, along with officers from the state probation and parole office, recently arrested three individuals on methamphetamine and other drug charges while conducting residential searches.
Sheriff’s officials reported Tuesday a search was conducted on March 2 at 117 Seymour Ave. in Douglas. During the search, Stephanie Denee Hester Stone was found to be in possession of 9.9 grams of methamphetamine and 1.2 grams of marijuana. Stone also had $464.00 cash in her possession, which authorities say she claimed to have made selling drugs. Stone was charged with possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of marijuana.
On the same day, the Douglas-Coffee Drug Unit assisted state parole officers with a search at the Super 8 Motel Room 118 at 1610 South Peterson Ave. Dustin Wingate, a state parolee, answered the door and was informed they were going to search the room. When asked if he was in possession of anything illegal, Wingate stated there was some methamphetamine in the room. Officers also came in contact with another person, identified as Barbara Carroll, Wingate’s girlfriend.
A total of 9.9 grams of methamphetamine, along with Methadone 10mg tablets (a Schedule II controlled substance), and $1565.00 was located. Wingate and Carroll were arrested for possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute and possession of a Schedule II controlled substance.
