Mr. James Leroy Corbean, age 63, of Douglas passed away Tuesday evening, March 29, 2016, at the Coffee Regional Medical Center, following an extended illness. He was born February 8, 1953 to the late James L. Corbean, Sr. and the late Mary Ruth Barlow Corbean.
Mr. Corbean, a native of Xenia, Ohio, was a Transportation Safety Director with Orgill Corporation. He was a former Deacon and Sunday School Teacher at Ellen Dale Baptist Church in Bartlett, Tennessee for 20 plus years. He was a member of the National Private Truck Commission. He loved to promote Missions, and loved Southern Gospel Music. Mr. Corbean was a member of the Carver Baptist Church.
Survivors include, his Wife, Vi Marie Peyton Corbean of Douglas, GA; His Children, Ryan (Ashley) Corbean of High Point, North Carolina, Jennifer (Dan) Marquis of Bartlett, Tennessee and Rev. Philip (Morgan) Corbean of Douglas, GA; 2 Sisters, Vicki (Roger) Workman of Xenia, Ohio and Kim (David) Frank of Calvary, New York; Brother & Sister in Love: Tim & Joy Brenneman of Tifton, GA; 10 Grandchildren: Catherine, Alexa, Lauren, Andrew, Emma, Autumn, Libby, Jotham, Riya, and Jude; Several Nieces, Nephews, Friends, and Other Relatives.
Funeral Services will be Friday morning, April 1, 2016, at 11:00 A.M., at the Carver Baptist Church, with the Interment to follow in the Carver Cemetery. The family will begin receiving friends, Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P. M., at the Carver Baptist Church. In Lieu of Flowers, donations are asked to be sent to the International Missions Board.
