In honor of South Georgia State College’s (SGSC) men’s and women’s swim teams’ runner-up finish at the NJCAA Swimming and Diving Championships, a reception will be held on Tuesday, April 26 at 4 p.m. in Room 220 of Engram Hall on the Douglas Campus.

SGSC’s men’s and women’s swim teams earned the runner-up honors at the national championship meet in Fort Pierce, Fla., in early March. The host school, Indian River State College, won both sides of the meet for the 43rd consecutive year. On the women’s side, SGSC took second place, and Monroe Community College was third. For the men, SGSC was second, and Iowa Central Community College placed third. SGSC swim coach CM Jenkins received the 2016 Women’s Swimming and Diving National Coach of the Year award.

Remarks at the event will begin at 4 p.m. Jenkins will introduce the athletes, share highlights of this season’s key accomplishments, and then the reception will follow. The community is invited to attend and help celebrate this momentous occasion.
