Earl Lowell Brice, Jr., age 79 of Douglas, passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2016, at his residence following an extended illness. Mr. Brice was born on May 24, 1936, in McRae to the late Earl Lowell Brice, Sr. and Rebecca Brooks Brice.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Brice of Douglas; son, Thomas (Allison) Brice of Douglas; two daughters, Brooke Morgan of Douglas and Dana (Chris) Calhoun of Douglas; two sisters, Kennie (Wallis) Patch of Brandon, MS and Rebecca (John) Maypole of New Jersey; three grandsons, Brice Strob of Douglas, Taylor Brice of Douglas, and Matthew Strob of Douglas; three granddaughters, Laura Calhoun of Douglas, Whitney Calhoun of Douglas, and Natalie Brice of Douglas; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 20, 2016 from 6 to 9 p.m at Sims Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 21, 2016 at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Chris Calhoun, Rev. Robert Beckum and Rev. Sam Vernon officiating. Interment will follow at Douglas City Cemetery.

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
