A 50-year-old Nicholls woman faces multiple felonies and other charges after allegedly ramming her ex-husband’s vehicle and attempting to run over another female victim.
Sheriff’s officials report that deputies responded last week to Nicholls Rd. at the Rocky Top Rd. intersection in reference to a female subject in a white Honda who had allegedly struck a truck driven by a male subject. The male victim, identified as 53-year-old Daniel Thomas, stated the offender did not have a driver’s license and was driving recklessly when she struck his vehicle. The victim added the offender had also attempted to run over another female and had threatened to kill her with a hammer.
The female subject driving the white Honda was not on the location when deputies arrived, and authorites observed damage to the male subject’s vehicle.
Detectives and deputies located the suspect’s vehicle at a residence that belonged to the female offender in this case. Further investigation identified the offender as Sherry Dorenne Moore Thomas , the ex-wife of the victim. The second victim in this case was identified as 57-year-old Diana McGouyrk. It was also determined that the incident began on the property of Mr. Thomas and that McGouyrk had left the residence on foot to attempt to avoid further problems with Ms. Thomas.
Ms. Thomas was later found at a residence in Nicholls where she was taken into custody and transported to the Coffee County Jail.
Thomas has been charged with aggravated assault (family violence), aggravated assault, terroristic threats and acts, leaving the scene of an accident, driving with suspended license, and no insurance. It was also discovered that a temporary protection order had previously been filed by Mr. Thomas against Ms. Thomas and is currently in effect.
Thomas has been denied bond and remains in the Coffee County Jail.
