Hawks baseball defeats Gordon State

The South Georgia State College baseball team (27-17, 12-5) beat Gordon State in Barnesville, Ga., Tuesday by a score of 6-3.

Connor Durden led the Hawks by going 2-for-5 on the day. He doubled in the third inning to post the first two runs of the game. Two more runs came across the plate in the fourth inning for the Hawks. SGSC pushed across one run in the sixth on an RBI single by Stephan Cruver, bringing home Chase Hinson.

Zack Rafuse was credited with the win. He allowed three runs over 6 1/3 innings while striking out one, walking four, and giving up four hits.
