Mr. Jimmy Carter, age 87, of Douglas passed away Friday afternoon, April 22, 2016, at his residence, following an extended illness. He was born February 26, 1929 to the late James “Jim” Carter and the late Sarah Tanner Carter.
Survivors include: His Wife: Lou Ellen Joyner Carter of Douglas, Ga.; 2 Sons: Derrell (Jenny) Carter, and Van (Kathy) Carter, all of Douglas, Ga.; 1 Daughter: Debbie (Dennis) Moore of Douglas, Ga.; 2 Sisters: Ethel Musgrove of Douglas, Ga., and Betty Jo (Clinton) Westberry of Baxley, Ga.; 3 Brothers: Noah Carter of Alma, Ga., Paul Carter of Pearson, Ga., and Donald Carter of Jacksonville, Florida. Numerous Grandchildren, and Great Grandchildren. Several Nieces, Nephews, Friends, and Other Relatives.
Funeral Services will be Sunday, April 24, 2016, at 3:00 P. M., at the Eastside Baptist Church, with the Interment to follow in the Satilla Memorial Gardens. The family will begin receiving friends Saturday evening, from 6:00 to 8:30 P. M., at Ricketson Funeral Home.
