Mr. Joe Cecil Wright, age 73, of Douglas passed away Thursday morning, May 5, 2016, at his residence, following an extended illness. He was born September 7, 1942 to the late James C. Wright and the late Mattie N. Wright.

Survivors include: His Wife: Maudine Purvis Wright 3 Children: Cindy M. Johnson and Chris Malphus, both of Douglas, GA Dr. Beckey Malphus of Thomasville, GA 1 Sister: Lorene “Tintz” Wright of Douglas, GA 1 Nephew: Rusty Wright of Douglas, GA 6 Grandchildren: Jennifer (Chad) Shrouder, Jordan L. Johnson, Jacob L. Johnson, Kayle Malphus, Ashlyn Malphus and Kate Malphus all of Douglas 1 Great Grandchild: Jayla Shrouder of Douglas, GA.

Funeral Service will be held Saturday, May 7, 2016, at 11:00 A.M., at the West Ward Street Church of God with Rev. Kenyon Fennell and Rev. Hilton Martin officiating. The Interment will follow in the Hebron Cemetery. The Family will begin receiving friends Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., at the West Ward Street Church of God.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Citizens Christian Academy P. O. Box 1064 Douglas, GA 31534, or South Georgia State College Foundation 100 College Drive Douglas, GA 31533 or Southview Church of God, 1905 Willacoochee Highway, Douglas, GA

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the Arrangements.
