Eastside Elementary Pre-K students recently enjoyed a special treat when they got to visit Kindergarten classes for the morning. Every Pre-K student got to go into the Kindergarten classrooms, meet the Kindergarten teachers and students, and explore in the five Kindergarten classrooms.  It was an exciting experience to visit in Kindergarten, as the many Pre-K students have worked hard to prepare for promoting up to Kindergarten in the school term 2016-2017.

Upon arrival, the Kindergarten teachers and their students made everyone feel very welcome. They shared various activities the Pre-K students will participate in once they become a Kindergarten student in August. The young Pre-K students realized many activities and events are part of their daily Pre-K instructional day. The Pre-K students enjoyed comparing and contrasting Pre-K and Kindergarten following their visit.

The Pre-K students have been participating in many transitional activities during April and May to assist them in the promotion to Kindergarten. Everyone was all smiles, and excitement is in the air as Eastside Pre-K students prepare to move up to Kindergarten.

Ms. Barbaree, Mrs. Godair, Mrs. Williams, Ms. Owens, Mrs. Whittle, and Ms. Palen are very proud of the accomplishments and growth of their students this year in Coffee Pre-K.  They encourage parents and guardians to continue to keep their students’ brains active during the summer months by utilizing the Summer Kindergarten Transition Packet activities that will be sent home. Thank you for another successful year in Coffee Pre-K.  These little Eastside Eagles are prepared and ready to “soar” in Kindergarten.

Eastside Pre-K teachers and paraprofessionals would also like to wish their co-worker, Pre-K Teacher Mrs. Frannie Godair, a very healthy and happy retirement.
