The Methodist Home for Children and Youth will host the 4th annual Home Run 10k, 5k, and one mile Fun Run on Saturday, June 4. The race will be held at First United Methodist Church in Americus. Registration will begin at 6:30 a.m.
All proceeds from the race will benefit the Americus campus of The Methodist Home for Children and Youth. The Americus campus of The Methodist Home provides residential care and support for girls ages 13-17. The Home Run race is held in memory of Jay Williams, a friend of The Methodist Home.
“This event is close to my heart because it honors the memory of my friend, Jay Williams,” said Rebecca Ferguson. “[It also] brings awareness to another cause that is very important to me – The Methodist Home. Many people in the community are not aware that they are [here], and much less really know what wonderful work is being done in our community,” Ferguson continued. “I am so happy to help provide a space for the community to see how they can help heal children and restore childhoods right here in Americus.”
