Ivey Dennis Cato, Jr., age 81, of Broxton, GA passed away on Tuesday, July 5, 2016, at Palemon Gaskin Nursing Home following an extended illness. Mr. Cato was born on June 10, 1935, in Douglas, GA to the late Ivey Dennis Cato, Sr. and Rose Ann Dockery Cato.

Survivors include: his wife, Shirley Elizabeth Sheffield Cato of Broxton, GA; three daughters, Angela Cato Scott, Denise Cato (Walter) Whitiker, and Amy Cato Vell all of Broxton, GA; son, Bruce (Terri) Cato of Hawkinsville, GA; four grandchildren, Neal Whitiker, Marguerite (Matt) Whitehead, Cory Foster, and Charles Bruce Cato; two great-grandchildren, Carli Whitehead and Jordan Whitehead; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Friday, July 8, 2016 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Sims Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Carver Baptist Church with Rev. David Sheffield and Rev. Mike Sheffield officiating. Interment will follow at Carver Baptist Church Cemetery.

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
