Prue Kirkland, age 80, of Douglas, GA passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 2016, at her residence following a brief illness. Mrs. Kirkland was born on November 16, 1935, in Lincoln County, NC to the late John Stamey Reynolds and Anna Lawing Reynolds.
Survivors include: her husband, Russell D. Kirkland of Douglas, GA; son, Rusty (Peggy) Kirkland of Douglas, GA; daughter, Cheryl Kirkland (Vondal) Mathews of Douglas, GA; four grandchildren, Larissa Davis, Daniel Kirkland, Carrie Redish, and Keith Matthews; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a grandchild, Austin Mullis.
The family will receive friends Friday, July 8, 2016 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m at Sims Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Lone Hill United Methodist Church with Rev. Mary Ann Braswell officiating. Interment will follow at Douglas City Cemetery.
