Satilla Regional Library System welcomed Mr. Al Poindexter, folk singer, to the Douglas-Coffee County and Pearson Public Libraries on Wednesday.

Mr. Al held an interactive folk singing program for children and families. There were many songs performed including Who Is Your Hero?, Hollow Tree, and This Land is Your Land  where there was audience participation. He discussed music history related with the various instruments he brought that included the banjo, guitar, and more. He taught new vocabulary words as well. Everyone had a great time!

The next Summer Reading Program performance will be Balloons R 4 Twisting Balloons Show with Ms. Linda Brunson which will take place Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at the Douglas/Coffee County Public Library at 11 a.m. and the Willacoochee Public Library at 2:30 p.m. Enjoy an interactive balloon show where you get to make your own balloon figures, fun for the family!

For more information on upcoming youth programs at Satilla Regional Library System, call Miss Julie Macomber, Children’s and Young Adult Librarian, at (912) 384-4667 ext. 222.
