Elton Morris, age 68, of Nicholls, GA passed away on Monday, August 1, 2016, at Tift Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. Mr. Morris was born on March 12, 1948, in Douglas, GA to the late William Edgar Morris and Dulice Lillia Jewell Morris.

Survivors include: his wife, Eula Joyce Morris of Nicholls, GA; three daughters, Jennifer Paige Miller of Douglas, GA, Georgia Anne (Scott) Harper of Douglas, GA, Jessica Lynne Cauley of Douglas, GA; son, Elton Heath Morris of Douglas, GA; three brothers, Wayne (Michele) Morris of Douglas, GA, Helaman (Debbie) Morris of Douglas, GA and John (Tracie) Morris of Douglas, GA; three sisters, Marilyn Mizell of Douglas, GA, Sharon (Joey) Chancey of Douglas, GA, and Sheila (Bennie) Spivey of Douglas, GA; six grandchildren, Steven Blayne Grey, Ariel Jade Harper, Lani Reese Harper, Samuel Scott Harper, Jackson Heath Morris, and Sadie Bella Cauley; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his three brothers, Billy Morris, Donald Morris, and Julian Morris; and two sisters, Edna Teston and Ada Harper.

The family will receive friends Thursday, August 4, 2016 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Sims Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 5, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with Bishop Justin Morris, Elder Luke Mizell, and Elder Ovid O’Neal officiating with Helaman Morris, Scott Harper, and Marilyn Mizell speaking. Interment will follow at Cumorah Cemetery with Elder Joey Chancey dedicating the grave.

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
