Mr. William John Wilson, age 83, of Douglas, passed away Monday morning, August 1, 2016 at Appling Healthcare System in Baxley, GA following a brief illness. Mr. Wilson was born March 12, 1933 to the late Richard Sampson Wilson and the late Leona Little Wilson. He was also preceded in death by a son, Danny Wilson and a brother Warnie Wilson.

Survivors include: 6 Children: Cynthia Purvis of Groveland, FL, Stanley Wilson of Gainesville, FL, Ricky (Jo Ann) Wilson of Nicholls, GA, Carrie Guess of Pearson, GA, Mike (Twyla) Wilson of Liberty, South Carolina, Donna McCurry of Broxton, GA; 1 Sister: Dot (Albert) McKinnon of Douglas, GA; 2 Brothers: Melvin (Ganelle) Wilson and Richard (Louise) Wilson both of Douglas, GA; 17 Grandchildren. 27 Great Grandchildren. 6 Great Great Grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be Thursday morning, August 4, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. at Franklin Holiness Baptist Church with Rev. Harold Barnes officiating. Mr. Wilson will be placed in the church Thursday morning at 9:00 A. M. to lie in state until the funeral hour. The Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Ware County. The family will be receiving friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 9:00 P.M. at Ricketson Funeral Home.

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
