Rev. Glen Coleman Griffis, age 85, of Douglas, GA passed away Tuesday afternoon, August 2, 2016, at Shady Acres Convalescent and Rehabilitation Center following an extended illness. Rev. Griffis was born March 1, 1931 to the late Elmon Griffis and the late Rilda Morgan Griffis. He was preceded in death by his wife Mrs. Jettie Mae Vaughn Griffis and 4 Brothers: Melvin Griffis, Ellie Griffis, Elton Griffis and Neil Griffis.

Survivors include: 3 Sons: Lonnie Glen Griffis of Pearson, GA, Mark (Laura) Griffis of Bristol, GA, Rev. Byron (Rachael) Griffis of Orange Park, FL; 3 Sisters: Mary Lou (James) Day of Douglas, GA, Carolyn (Osbon) Wood of Columbus, GA, Evelyn (David) Anderson of Cottageville, SC; 2 Brothers: Aden (Faye) Griffis and Larry (Pattie) Griffis both of Douglas, GA; 7 Grandchildren: Michelle (Tubb) Tanner, Glen Griffis, Mandy Griffis, Matthew (Brittani) Griffis, Braden Griffis, Hannah Griffis and Sarah Griffis. Numerous Great Grandchildren. Several Nieces, Nephews, Friends and Other Relatives.

Funeral Services will be Friday, August 5, 2016, at 11:00 A.M. at the First Assembly of God with Rev. Marshall Adcock, Rev. Glen Vaughn and Rev. Joe Vaughn officiating. Interment will follow in Satilla Memorial Gardens with Rev. Billy Wilson and Rev. Hilton Martin conducting the committal services. Rev. Griffis will be placed in the church at 10:00 A.M. to lie in state until the funeral hour. The family will receive friends Thursday evening, August 4, 2016 from 6:00 to 9:00 P.M. at Ricketson Funeral Home.

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
