Reavis Gilliard, age 80, of Douglas, GA passed away on Sunday, August 7, 2016, at his residence following a brief illness. Mr. Gilliard was born on September 30, 1935, in Douglas, GA to the late George Washington Gilliard and Emma Dora Thigpen Gilliard.

Survivors include: his son, Brad Gilliard of Douglas, GA; three daughters, Wanda Norman of Douglas, GA, Doris Robinson of Waycross, GA, and Patsy Wencess of Lakeland, FL; three brothers, Leo Gilliard of Broxton, GA, Ed Gilliard of Douglas, GA, and Talmadge Gilliard of Millwood, GA; two sisters, Eloise Spivey and Louise Wilson both of Douglas, GA; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian White Gilliard.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 10, 2016 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Sims Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Sims Funeral Home with Rev. Loyce Burkett officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Church Cemetery in Atkinson County.

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
