Weather permitting, Georgia Department of Transportation contractor Ozark Striping Co. will be refreshing the striping and/or replacing raised pavement markers (RPMs) in Berrien, Coffee and Terrell counties beginning Monday.
Refreshed striping and new RPMs are brighter and easier to see, especially at night and in inclement weather, which can help motorists stay on the roadway and in the proper lane. In addition, the contractor is using a high-build wet weather paint, which provides better reflectivity when there is water on the road.
This is a slow-moving operation that requires rolling lane closures. Motorists are asked to use caution and reduce speed when approaching the work zone. Please do not pass the work truck or trail/buffer vehicle, change lanes behind the truck or trail/buffer vehicle or swerve back and forth to see around the trucks.
The work schedule is 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, Aug. 8-12, 2016.
The Coffee County project will run on State Road 135 from Cherokee Hills Road to the Jeff Davis County line.
