Mrs. Geneva Cauley Carter, age 84, of Douglas, GA passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2016, at Shady Acres Nursing Home following an extended illness. Mrs. Carter was born on December 15, 1931, in Douglas, GA to the late Nead Cauley and Ethel Merritt Cauley.

Survivors include daughter: Deborah and her husband, Donald Carver of Douglas, GA; two sisters: Geraldine Veal of Ambrose, GA; Garon (Jimmy) Smith of Snipesville, GA; Nine grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents: Nead Cauley and Ethel Merritt Cauley, her husband: Milton Carter; her son: Stanley Marshall Carter; her daughter: Dionne Carter Harper and her brother, Gene Cauley.

Mrs. Carter will Lie-in-State at First Assembly of God on Tuesday, August 23, 2016, from 3:00 PM until the funeral hour at 4:00 PM with Rev. Marshall Adcock officiating. Interment will follow at Salem Holiness Baptist Church Cemetery.

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
