Rev. James Jackson Moore, age 88, of Willacoochee passed away Friday evening, August 19, 2016, at his residence following an extended illness. He was born September 5, 1927 to the late William McKinley Moore and the late Annie Rice Moore.
Rev. Moore, a native of Berrien County, had been a Holiness Baptist Minister for 50 years. He was a U. S. Army Veteran. He was also preceded in death by 2 Sisters, Rosa Rowe and Hattie Tyson, 6 Brothers, Shelton Moore, T. W. Moore, Aaron Moore, Bennie Moore, Charles Moore and Amos Moore. Rev. Moore was a member of the Willacoochee Holiness Baptist Church.
Survivors include: His Wife, Frances Rudine Soles Moore of Willacoochee, GA; 6 Children, Marilyn Martin of Nashville, GA, James Lamar “Marty” (Margie) Moore of Willacoochee, GA, Daryl Moore of Tifton, GA, Gay Ann Hodge of Enigma, GA, Wendell (Melissa) Moore of Douglas, GA, Lisa (Allen) Cater of Willacoochee, GA; 22 Grandchildren and 36 Great Grandchildren; Several Nieces, Nephews, Friends, and Other Relatives.
Funeral Services will be Monday, August 22, 2016, at 3:00 P. M., at the Holiness Baptist Campground with Rev. David Rowe, Rev. Chris Martin, Rev. Russell Joiner, and Rev. Harold Barnes officiating. The Interment will follow in the Willacoochee City Cemetery. Rev. Moore will be placed in the Church, Monday, at 2:00 P. M., to lie in state until the funeral hour. The family will begin receiving friends Sunday evening, from 6:00 to 9:00 P. M., at Ricketson Funeral Home.
