Maxie Louise Harper, age 94, of Douglas, GA passed away on Wednesday, August 24, 2016, at Shady Acres Nursing Home. Ms. Harper was born on December 28, 1921, in Willacoochee, Georgia to the late Raiford Metts and Mattie Metts.

Survivors include: Daughter, Judy (George) Kight of Ambrose, GA; Daughter, Peggy (Allen) Jernigan of Douglas, GA; Daughter, Kathryn “Kay” Griffin of Albany , GA; Grandchild, Abby Kight of Broxton, GA; Grandchild, Allen Jernigan, Jr., of Gainesville, GA; Grandchild, Michael Jernigan of Wichita, KS; Grandchild, Loy Addison of Albany, GA; Grandchild, Wesley Griffin of Albany, GA; Grandchild, Paul Griffin of Fitzgerald, GA and grandchildren. Preceded by: Husband: Ira Harper, Father: Raiford Metts, Mother: Mattie Metts, Grandson: Rusty Kight, Son-in-Law: Wendell “Butch” Griffin, three brothers and three sisters.

In lieu of flowers donation can be made to the Mt. Union Primitive Baptist Church.

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
