Over $7,000 up for grabs during the Douglas BBQ Cook-Off

The South Georgia BBQ & Outdoor Festival will be held in Douglas on Friday, September 9, and Saturday, September 10, 2016.  The Douglas BBQ Cook-Off is held in conjunction with the South Georgia BBQ & Outdoor Festival.

“We are thrilled, again, to partner with Georgia BBQ Association for the Douglas BBQ Cook-Off and honored to be a Team of the Year double points contest,” says Georgia Henderson, Public Information Department Director.  “Last year, we had over 20 professional teams competing and this year we are hoping to host even more!”

Teams wishing to participate in the Douglas BBQ Cook-Off competition should contact the Public Information Department at 912-383-0277.  Registration is now underway, with team entry beginning at $300 for a 20X20 cook space. 

The cook team meeting and Friday Night Welcome Dinner will be Friday, Sept. 9, at beginning at 5 p.m.  Standard GBA turn in times will be observed. 

Payout for the Main Event categories will be $750 & Trophy for 1st place, $500 & trophy for 2nd place, $400 & trophy for 3rd place, $300 & medallion for 4th place, $250 & medallion for 5th place, $200 & certificate for 6th place, $150 & certificate for 7th place, $100 & certificate for 8th–10th place. 

The Reserve Champion will receive $2,000 & trophy and the Grand Champion will receive $3,000 & trophy.
