Lois Lee Williams Kirkland, age 98, of Douglas, GA passed away on Tuesday, September 20, 2016, at Shady Acres following an extended illness. Mrs. Kirkland was born on September 12, 1918, in Hampton Springs, FL to the late Gentry Williams and Ida Hall Williams.

Survivors include: her two daughters, Sheila (Verlon) Hutchison of Douglas, GA and Willene (Wayne Tanner) Wright of Nicholls, GA; seven grandchildren, David (Christina) Hutchison of Nicholls, GA, Ricky (Carol) Hutchison of Douglas, GA, Sandra (Don) Boone of Nicholls, GA, Sharon (David) Varnedore of Douglas, GA, Marty (Kevin) Hopkins of Lincolnton, GA, Vicky (Jay) Ryles of Nicholls, GA, and Kenneth (Kenny) Vickers, Jr. of Nicholls, GA; three step grandchildren, Joy Sullivan of Yulee, FL, Debra Harris of Hilliard, FL, and Henry Wright, Jr. of Green Cove Springs, FL; twelve great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; special niece, Frances (Sidney) Ough of Cleveland, GA; special caregivers, Ruth Roberson of Nicholls, GA, Frances Nito of Douglas, GA, Nursing Staff and CNA’s of Shady Acres and Bethany Hospice; several nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rexford Kirkland; a son and daughter-in-law, Rocher and Vivian Harrell Kirkland; brother and sister-in-law, Gene R. and Vivian Williams; sister and brother-in-law, Frances and Virtle Cross; and son-in-law, H.L. Wright.

The family will receive friends Friday, September 23, 2016 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Sims Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. at Nicholls Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Campbell officiating. Interment will follow at Hall Cemetery.

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
