A 68-year-old Nicholls man was arrested on drug and firearms charges recently after authorities executed a search warrant at his residence.

Officials with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, Nicholls Police Dept., Douglas-Coffee Drug Unit, Coffee County Sheriff’s Office, and H.E.A.T. traffic units raided the home of John Charles Drummond at 820 North Coffee St. in Nicholls around 10:30 a.m. on Sept. 20.

A search of the residence led to the discovery of several prescription medications, an undisclosed quantity of marijuana, scales, packaging materials, and a loaded firearm.

Drummond was arrested at the scene and charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of marijuana.

During the course of this investigation, agents state they were able to prove that drugs were being sold from this residence.  Officials added they have seized marijuana, illicit pain medications, and crack cocaine leaving the home on a daily basis.
