Mrs. Linda Gail Courson Murray, age 66, of Douglas, GA passed away Monday morning, September 26, 2016 at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah following an extended illness. Mrs. Murray was born October 9, 1949 to the late William Alton Courson and the late Dorothy Collins Courson.

Mrs. Murray, a native of Ocilla, Georgia, was a Homemaker. Being a Pastors’ wife, she and her husband, Rev. H. P. Murray, had served several churches throughout this area. She was preceded in death by 1 Son, Horace Preston Murray. Mrs. Murray was a member of Jowers Chapel Holiness Baptist Church; however she had been attending Wesley Chapel Holiness Baptist Church.

Survivors include: Her Husband, Rev. H. P. Murray of Douglas, GA; 1 Daughter, Missy (Marcus) Burch of Douglas, GA; 2 Grandsons, Christian Burch and Preston Burch both of Douglas, GA; 2 Brothers, George Courson of Ocilla, GA and Alton Courson of West Green, GA; 1 Sister, Lillie Mae Rollins of Millen, GA; Several Nieces, Nephews, Friends and Other Relatives.

Funeral services were held Wednesday Morning, September 28, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at the Chapel of Ricketson Funeral Home, with Rev. Jimmy Jordan and Rev. David Rowe officiating. The interment followed in Jowers Chapel Cemetery in Atkinson County. Active Pallbearers were: Chase Taylor, Patrick Pennewell, Emory Burch, Joey Burch, Jeremy Burch and Barry Spivey. Special Musical Selections, “Rock of Ages” was presented a cappella by the Wesley Chapel Singers and “Amazing Grace” was presented by the New Vision Singers, with Rodney Windham, at the Keyboard. “Pre-Lude” and “Post-Lude” soft hymns were rendered by CD Music.
