Benjamin Cory Johnson, age 33, of Douglas, GA passed away on Tuesday, October 4, 2016, at Coffee Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. Mr. Johnson was born on November 7, 1982, in Douglas, GA to Sandra Foskey Johnson Heist and the late Sidney Ray Johnson.

Survivors include: his wife, Sharon Nicole Johnson of Douglas, GA; daughter, Lacey Johnson of Douglas, GA; two sons, Sidney Austin Johnson of Douglas, GA and Benjamin Chase Johnson of Douglas, GA; mother, Sandra Johnson Heist of Douglas, GA; sister, Lisa Heist of Douglas, GA; two brothers, Marty Heist of Douglas, GA and Chris Johnson of Douglas, GA; grandmother, Laverne Foskey of Douglas, GA; brother-in-law, Cory Carter of Douglas, GA; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Sidney Ray Johnson; maternal grandfather, Verlon “Buddy” Foskey; paternal grandfather, Jimmy Johnson; and paternal grandmother, Wannell Johnson.

The family will receive friends Thursday, October 6, 2016 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Sims Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 7, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. at the Cross of Christ Victory Center with Rev. Johnny Smith and Rev. Gerald Gardner officiating. Interment will follow at Douglas City Cemetery.

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
