PROJECT ACHIEVEMENT
Every 5th and 6th grade 4-H Club member is encouraged to participate in Cloverleaf Project Achievement this year. What is 4-H Cloverleaf Project Achievement? It is skills for a lifetime. 4‑H’ers pick a project area of interest, research the topic, write a presentation, and then present the presentation to others. While working on your presentation you’ll learn research, organization, time management, and public speaking skills in addition to the knowledge you’ll gain about your presentation topic. As you get older, Project Achievement will include learning and sharing activities during the whole year and keeping a record of your activities, but as a Cloverleaf (4th – 6th graders) it’s all about sharing knowledge. We will compete in an area competition in Lyons, Georgia, on Saturday, November 12th. 4‑H’ers will also be able to present their presentations during their monthly 4-H Club meeting.
What can 4-H’ers talk about? Georgia 4-H offers something for just about everyone! From Bicycle to Wildlife, there are 59 different categories. Fifty-two projects include oral presentations. Seven projects have special presentations including three performing arts categories, a sewing presentation, a public speaking category, and two foods labs presenting a no-cook snack. PARENTS: Please help your child select a project area. Check out the categories, but make sure you look at the project objectives to learn more about what your child should do and any special requirements. Categories and objectives can be found by going to: coffee4h.org, 4-H Forms and Web Links, Project Achievement Websites, Cloverleaf Project List.
The sign-up deadline for Cloverleaf Project Achievement is Friday, October 21. Call or come by the 4‑H office soon to sign up for a project. Projects are assigned on a first-come basis. You need to begin preparing your presentation NOW so you will have time to practice and give your presentation during your 4‑H Club meeting. 4‑H staff members will be happy to help you get started and answer any questions you may have as you work on your presentation. For more information, call 384-1402.
