Lavonda Hurd, age 48, of Douglas, GA passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2016, at Coffee Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. Mrs. Hurd was born on December 31, 1967, in Albany, GA to Joe Lee Stroud and Janie Jenell Hall Stroud.

Survivors include: her husband, Philip Hurd of Douglas, GA; daughter, Grace (Chris) Key of Douglas, GA; two sons, Jonathon McMillan of Douglas, GA and Joseph (Shianna) McMillan of Douglas, GA; stepson, Justin Hurd of Waycross, GA; two grandchildren, Emmalee Key and Mackinley Luke; father and mother, Joe Lee and Jenell Shroud of Douglas, GA; sister, Tara D. (Andy) Royal of Dupont, GA; brother, Tony (Penny) Shroud of Leesburg, GA; special niece and nephew, Paris J. Moore and Weslee D. Wilson; several nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and other relatives .

The family will receive friends Saturday, October 8, 2016 from 6:00 TO 9:0 p.m. at Sims Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, October 9, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. at First Assembly of God with Rev. Mark Hall, Rev. Cliff Kirkland, Rev. Marshall Adcock, and Grace Key officiating. Interment will follow at Satilla Memorial Gardens.

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
