Mavis Elizabeth Purvis Daniel, age 93, of Willacoochee, GA passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2016, at Pruitt Health of Ocilla following an extended illness. Mrs. Daniel was born on March 23, 1923, in Coffee Co., GA to the late Elisha Purvis, Sr. and Elizabeth Nugent Purvis.

Survivors include: her two daughters, Patricia (Gene) Stone of Douglas, GA and Shirlene (Rhett) Royal of Wray, GA; son, Charles Larry (Eloise) Daniel of Willacoochee, GA; Dr. and Mrs. H.P. Nair of Douglas, GA; eight grandchildren, Robby (Camille) Guthrie, Patrenice (Ben) West, Darren (Michele) Daniel, Melissa Daniel, Jason (Melanie) Royal, and Charles (Megan) Royal; Aniel Nair and Anita Nair; twelve great-grandchildren; brother, Rev. Elisha Purvis, Jr. of Douglas, GA; two sisters, Verma Metts of West Green, GA and Faye Alford of Macon, GA; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Prentis Daniel; sister, Oveida Day; and two brothers, Kenneth Purvis and Hubert Purvis.

The family will receive friends Sunday, October 9, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Sims Funeral Home.

Funeral Service will be held on Monday, October 10, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. L.G. Aldridge officiating. Interment will follow at Union Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers include Robby Guthrie, Jason Royal, Casen Royal, Charles Royal, Darren Daniel and Ben West. Music provided by Lisa Carver.

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
