A man wanted by Alma police on charges of aggravated assault and entering an auto was arrested in Maine just south of the Canadian border on Sunday.

Authorities had been on the lookout for 28-year-old Joshua Brock since last week after he allegedly fought and pulled a knife on a local business owner after being caught rummaging through a vehicle. Minutes before this incident, officers discovered the suspect had attempted to break into another vehicle at another business in town and was captured on video tape.

Brock was captured in Ashland, Maine on Sunday by Ashland Police.

The following excerpt is from the Ashland Police Facebook page:

On Sunday October 16, 2016 at approximately 11:45 am, Officer Morrison pulled over a SUV from Georgia matching the description from a previous complaint. Upon further investigation it was determined that the vehicle was stolen out of Georgia from a family who had evacuated their home with all their personal belongings to avoid hurricane Matthew. The driver from Georgia and the passenger from Texas were arrested for unauthorized use of property and are being held at the Aroostook County Jail. The United States Border Patrol and their K-9 assisted. Ashland PD is working with the owner of the vehicle to reunite them with their vehicle and belongings.
