Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No…it’s Westside Superhero Readers!
Students at Westside Elementary School are using their super reading powers to read, read, read. Each grade level is working to accumulate a set number of “words read” by the end of the year in order to reach the school-wide goal of 25,000,000 words!
Principal Wendy Jowers spearheaded this initiative in order to get students excited about reading and to increase reading Lexile levels. As you can see from the pictures, Headquarters (AKA the media center) is filled with excited students who are using their reading super powers to blast through tons of books!
Westside students READ….What’s your super power?
