Jimmy Barnett was the speaker at the Douglas Kiwanis Club meeting Tuesday, Nov. 7, at the Flyin’ Cowboy Restaurant.
Jimmy spoke about his life experiences with karate, boxing and Brazilian jiu-jitsu and how he came to start coaching Brazilian jiu-jitsu. He currently coaches in Eastman and recently started coaching in Douglas within the last six weeks at the Better Bodies Gym.
Mr. Barnett demonstrated a triangle, chain, and technical stand up for the group. If interested in learning Brazilian jiu-jitsu, Jimmy teaches Tuesday, Wednesday, and Fridays from 4 to 5 p.m. for children and 7:15 to 9 p.m. for adults at the Better Bodies Gym in Douglas.
The Kiwanis Club members enjoyed and appreciated his talk and demonstrations of Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
