It all happened on an eerie Thursday night at Westside Elementary…

The date was October 29th and….. Spooky Science was the scene!

Westside Elementary students and parents enjoyed a spooktacular and fun filled night of receiving important reading information, entertainment by the first grade students, educational and engaging Spooky Science experiments in the classrooms, and free dinner in the Wildcat Café for the whole family…all while dressed in favorite costumes!

Students at Westside were eager to come back to school dressed for success in favorite costumes for the evening. First grade students began the eventful evening as they entertained the PTO audience with song which was followed by a presentation of informational reading test tips.  Afterward, students and parents journeyed back to the classrooms to participate in unbelievable science experiments led by their homeroom mad scientists…aka: homeroom teachers. Students got down and dirty with the experiments as they learned how to connect informational reading to activities and science fun.

Following the engaging science experiments, families were invited to the Wildcat Café where they were served a free meal and enjoyed time to visit and share their experiences with the spooky science they had just participated.

Everyone had a blast, and we look forward to Spooky Science Night next year at Westside Elementary School!
