Emilio Ortiz, age 59, of Douglass, Ga. passed away on Tuesday, November 15, 2016, at his residence following an extended illness. Mr. Ortiz was born on March 28, 1957, in Douglas, Ga. to Raymon Ortiz and the late Juanell Jewell Ortiz.

Survivors include: his wife, Janice Ortiz of Douglas, Ga.; daughter, Kimberly Ortiz of Douglas, Ga.; son, Ramon Ortiz of Douglas, Ga.; two stepdaughters, Terra (Gerald) McDaniel of Douglas, Ga. and Elizabeth Mobley of Waynesville, Ga.; stepson, Jesse Mobley of Waynesville, Ga.; father, Raymon Ortiz of Douglas, Ga.; two sisters: Joy (Ricky) Smith, of Ambrose, Ga. and Camellia (Stanley) Spivey, of Douglas, Ga.; brother, Reinaldo (Louise) Ortiz of Douglas, Ga.; ten grandchildren, Tristen Ortiz, Lauren Ortiz, Ethan Parks, Vanessa Goodwin, AJ Smith, Markus McDaniel, Haley Smith, Aiden Mobley, Elijah Clark, and Ariel McDaniel; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, friends, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his mother, Juanell Jewell Ortiz.

The family will receive friends Thursday, November 17, 2016 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m at Sims Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 18, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with Bishop Ashley Woods, Elder Jerry Waldron, Elder Ovid O’Neal, Elder Donnie O’Neal, and Rev. Jimmy Music officiating. Interment will follow at Roxie Mae Church Cemetery.

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
