Angelia Ann Merritt, age 48, of Douglas, Ga. passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2016, at Coffee Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. Mrs. Merritt was born on May 12, 1968, in Douglas, Ga to Brenda Jane Woodward Sears and the late Bobby Sears.

Survivors include: her daughter, Kayle Merritt (Jason) Whiddon of Douglas, Ga.; son, Christopher (Raquel) Merritt of Douglas, Ga.; mother, Jane Sears of Douglas, Ga.; four grandchildren, Carson Merritt, Reima Merritt, Embry Whiddon, and Eason Whiddon; grandfather, Joe Woodward of Douglas, Ga; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Dot Woodward.

The family will receive friends Friday, November 18, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m at Sims Funeral Home. Funeral Services were held on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. at St. Illa Baptist Church with Rev. Donnie Kirkland and Rev. Walter James officiating. Interment followed at St. Illa Baptist Church Cemetery.

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
