Wiregrass Georgia Technical College was named the winner of the 2016 National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships (NACEP) marketing materials contest.  This announcement was made at the 2016 NACEP National Conference in Kentucky.

Wiregrass Marketing and Public Relations department and High School Services department collaborated on the materials that were recognized nationally.  The award-winning pieces are used for communicating the college’s Move On When Ready (MOWR) Program targeting high school students and their parents in the 11 counties the college serves. The pieces are geared to high school-aged students and uses bright colors, graphics and images younger students can relate to.

Those involved with this process include: Angela Hobby, Vice President for Enrollment Management; Lydia Hubert, Director of Marketing and Public Relations, and Rosemary Sirmans, Marketing Specialist.  Sirmans is the creative one behind the materials who took suggestions and ideas from the team and created the marketing pieces.  The Director of Recruitment, Brooke Jaramillo, and High School Services staff Andrea Fletcher, Stacey Prescott, and Shamonti Mobley also provide input and help distribute the MOWR materials.

The college saw a 27% increase in fall semester 2016 MOWR enrollment.  The MOWR program allows students starting in the ninth grade the opportunity to take college classes for FREE at Wiregrass.  High School students are able to take either academic degree level courses that may transfer to any Technical College System of Georgia or University of Georgia college or university, occupational courses, or diploma level core courses.

All college coursework taken through the MOWR is fully covered through MOWR funding, and students are not required to pay out-of-pocket for tuition, college fees, or textbooks.  The only fees students may be responsible for are course-specific fees determined by the college.  No hours taken through the MOWR program will count towards a student’s HOPE Grant or Scholarship Hours Cap.

For more for information about the MOWR program, contact Andrea Fletcher High School Coordinator for Northern Region (229) 468-2049, or andrea.fletcher @ wiregrass.edu or Stacey Prescott High School Coordinator for Southern Region (229) 259-5180, or stacey.prescott @ wiregrass.edu. Those interested may also visit www.wiregrass.edu.

December 14 is the last day for MOWR students taking classes on a Wiregrass campus or online to register for Spring Semester classes.  Classes begin January 9, 2017.
