Annie Maude Stodghill, age 87, of Douglas, GA passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2016, at her residence following an extended illness. Mrs. Stodghill was born on July 10, 1929, in Douglas, GA to the late Osie Harper and Lucy Adel Martin Harper.

Survivors include: her daughter, Brenda Stodghill of Douglas, GA; son, Donald (Elaine) Stodghill of Alapaha, GA; five grandchildren, Donna (Lee) Browning of Adel, GA, Reagan (John) Nugent of Alapaha, GA, William (Missy) Stodghill of Nashville, GA, Richard (Ellen) Stodghill of Columbus, GA, and Tabitha Renee (Damon) Holtzclaw of Douglas, GA; sister, Geraldine (Neil) Morris of Columbia, SC; seventeen great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; special family friends, Riley Newkirk, Clarkie Holton, and Sheila Lott; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Vinson Stodghill; parents, Osie Harper and Lucy Martin Harper; and a granddaughter, Katrina Lynn Wright. A special thanks to Bethany Hospice and Dr. Lorrain Sumner.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 27, 2016 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m at Sims Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at College Avenue Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Mercer, Rev. Edmond Purcell, and Rev. Robert Wigley officiating. Interment will follow at St. Illa Baptist Church Cemetery. In Lieu of Flowers donations may be made to College Avenue Baptist Church, 714 S. College Ave., Douglas, GA 31533.

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
