Henry Richard Stone, age 65, of Douglas, GA passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2017, at Coffee Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. Mr. Stone was born on April 17, 1951, in Hazlehurst, GA to the late Henry M. Stone and Martha Hutchinson Stone.

Survivors include: his special friend Lavern Altman of Douglas, GA and her son, Jamie (Julie) Altman of Seneca, SC; his son, Brian Stone of Savannah, GA; his daughter, Jennifer (Tim) Ayers of Middleburg, FL; brother, J.W. (Kay) Stone of South Carolina; four sisters, Wanda Mullinnix of Gaffney, SC, Ouida Faye (Ronald) Roberson of Ocilla, GA, Winnell (Billy) Taylor of Douglas, GA, and Carolyn (Danny) Merritt of Nicholls, GA; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his three brothers, Bobby Stone, Melvin Stone, and Kenny Stone; and three sisters, Lucille Barnette, Rebecca White, and Bobbie Jean Stone.

The family will receive friends Friday, January 13, 2017 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m at Sims Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Sims Funeral Home with Rev. Victor Gilbert and Rev. Hilton Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Reedy Branch Baptist Church Cemetery.

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
