JUNIOR/SENIOR DPA

Junior/Senior District Project Achievement (DPA) is coming up next week (Jan. 27-29) at Rock Eagle for our 7th-12th grade 4-H members. 4-H members who will be attending had to select a DPA project last year, work in that project all year (for 2016), prepare and submit a portfolio showcasing their project work, leadership, community service, and other activities performed during the year, as well as show their involvement through a picture page. This portfolio will account for 40-50% of their DPA score. They will present a presentation on their topic at the contest next weekend which will account for the balance of their score.

Junior 4-H members who submitted portfolios include Ashton Ates, Brayden Bailey, Antonio Baldwin, Jeremiah Brantley, Carla Bullard, Austin Cleveland, Amelia Crockett, Margo Daniels, Destiny Douglas, Terryanna Harris, Kiki Kellam, Quincy Kent, Muskan Minhas, Kameron Pennell, Alexandra Rivero, Ishika Sadarangani, Jonathan Sayer, Justin Strickland, Sariah Wells, and Jenna Williams.

Senior 4-H members who submitted portfolios include: Ebony Brown, Gre’Daisha Bryant, Savannah Cothern, Jackson Cowart, Asia Davis, Jameisha Doe, Allison Fussell, JaVonte Grady, Anna Grace Grantham, Abby Hamilton, Rian Hill, Korinda Johnson, Kyya Johnson, Bethany Land, T.K. McIver, Candice Pace, Adrianna Rivero, TaKyla Robinson, Willie Spence, Tiffany Spruce, Maggie Stevens, Nydia Swanson, Olivia Thomas, Micheal Woods, Evie Woodward, and Kimberly Wright.

We look forward to a great weekend at Rock Eagle on January 27-29. Good luck to each of our 4-H members in their project competition.

COCA-COLA/KRISPY KREME FUNDRAISERS

We have scheduled another 4-H Coca-Cola Truckload Sale and Krispy Kreme Donut Sale to help 4-H member raise money to cover their camp cost this year. The sales begin now and will end on Monday, Jan. 30. All order forms and money are due by 4 p.m. on Monday, January 30. The drinks and donuts can be picked up at the 4-H office from 1-3 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 15. For each case of drinks a 4-H member sells, $3 will be applied to their camp fee. For each dozen of donuts they sell, $2 will be applied to their camp fee. The more they sell, the lower their camp fee will be. 4-H parents need to pick up an order form from the 4-H office today.

PET THERAPY VISITATION

Our monthly visitation for Pet Therapy will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 17, from 4 to 4:30 p.m. at Manor House Assisted Living Center. 4-H members are invited to come and bring a friendly pet for visitation. Please make sure that the pet is current with its vaccinations. Animals should be brought in the door at the rear of the building to avoid taking them through the dining areas. Please don’t leave Manor House until we get our group photo at 4:30 p.m.

If you have questions about the Coffee County 4-H Club program, or questions around the farm or home, please feel free to contact the Coffee County Extension office at (912) 384-1402. Remember, we are YOUR local connection to the University of Georgia.
