Douglas Mayor Tony Paulk, Commissioner Cindy McNeill, Commissioner Olivia Pearson, Commissioner Kentaiwon Durham, and several local officials attended the Okefenokee Occasion in Atlanta on Jan. 11.

Okefenokee Occasion is an annual event held each year that allows local leaders one-on-one time to share Southeast Georgia region issues with lawmakers.

“This is a great time for local leaders to discuss issues in our area with lawmakers as they begin the 2017 session,” says Mayor Tony Paulk.

The Okefenokee Occasion is sponsored by the Southern Georgia Regional Commission and was hosted by the following 17 counties: Appling, Atkinson, Ben Hill, Berrien, Brantley, Brooks, Charlton, Clinch, Coffee, Cook, Jeff Davis, Lanier, Pierce, Tift, Turner, Ware and Wayne.
