An investigation into a report of suspected arson last week led authorities to a convicted sex offender wanted out of Cook County for a probation violation.

Detectives with the Coffee Co. Sheriff’s Office initiated an investigation after receiving a complaint of arson that had reportedly occurred at a residence in the Bridgetown area of the county.

During the course of the investigation, authorities were led to an individual identified as Marvin Vickers. It was soon discovered Vickers was a wanted fugitive and a convicted sex offender who had failed to update his address information as required by law.

Detectives were able to locate Vickers in the Ambrose area, where he was taken into custody and transported to the Coffee County Jail.
