A combined effort by the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office and the Broxton Police Dept. last week resulted in the apprehension of a man wanted for suspected child molestation.
Officials state Coffee County detectives were contacted by an officer with the Broxton Police Department last Friday, Jan. 27, requesting assistance in locating an individual identified as Chuckie Lee Matthews. Broxton police had secured warrants against Matthews for child molestation.
Detectives located Matthews at a business in Douglas, where he was placed under arrest and transported to the Coffee County Jail.
