Mrs. Louise Hursey Underwood, age 86, of Douglas passed away Sunday evening, February 5, 2017 at Shady Acres Health and Rehabilitation, following an extended illness. Ms. Underwood, a native of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, was born July 11, 1930 to the late James Tillman Rushing and the late Ruby Lee Clontz Rushing. Other than her parents, Mrs. Underwood was preceded in death by her husbands, Dennis S. Hursey and Gene Underwood and two brothers, Charles Rushing and Harvey Rushing.

Survivors include:
1 Daughter, Veda Powers of Townville, South Carolina
2 Sons, Dennis Hursey of Douglas, GA and Arthur Hursey of Alachua, Florida
1 Sister, Jeanette Byers of Byron, GA
2 Brothers, Jimmy Lee Rushing of Dothan, Alabama and Rudy Tillman Rushing of Wichita, Kansas
4 Grandchildren, Kristi Greene of Pridgen, GA, Lance Powers of Anderson, South Carolina and Adam Hursey of Alva, Florida and Amy Compton of North Palm Beach, Florida
6 Great Grandchildren, Skyler Compton and Conner Compton, both of North Palm Beach, Florida, Della Hursey of Alva, Florida, Summer Locklear of Townville, South Carolina, Subastian Powers and Wolfgang Powers, both of Andersonville, South Carolina
2 Great Greatgrandchildren, Lena Locklear and Alexandria Locklear, both of Townville, South Carolina
Several Nieces, Nephews, Other Relatives and Friends.

Graveside Services and Interment will be Wednesday morning, February 8, 2017, at 11:00 A.M., at Tanner Cemetery, with her son, Arthur Hursey, officiating.

The family will be receiving friends Tuesday evening, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Ricketson Funeral Home.

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements
