Fannie Mae Kirkland, age 75, of Douglas, GA passed away on Thursday, April 6, 2017, at her residence following an extended illness.

Mrs. Kirkland was born on February 4, 1942, in Scottsboro, AL to the late James William Franklin Sisk and Birdy Mae Flippo Sisk. Survivors include: three sons, Joseph Wade (Melissa) Kirkland of Shelbyville, IN, Sidney Clyde (Eileen) Kirkland of Willacoochee, GA, and Jimmy Carroll (Debbie) Kirkland of Douglas, GA; daughter, Margarett Diane Johns of Douglas, GA; sister, Ruby Lorraine Frazier of Ider, AL; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney Carroll Kirkland; son, Randy Von Kirkland; grandson, Sidney Shahee Kirkland; two brothers, William Clyde Sisk; and William Edward Sisk; and two sisters, Mary Lou Gilbreath and Sarah Ruth Hurst.

The funeral service will be held on Sunday, April 9, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. at the chapel of Sims Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Arna Church Cemetery. Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
