David Lee Hamilton, Sr., age 70, a native of Minerva, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at Coffee Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. Mr. Hamilton lived in Douglas since 1981.
Mr. Hamilton was born on September 20, 1946, in Minerva, Ohio, to the late David Ellwood Hamilton and Phyllis Arlene Walker Hamilton. Mr. Hamilton was a former employee of PCC Airfoils for 38 years. Survivors include: his wife of 32 years, Patricia Porter Hamilton of Douglas, GA; four children, Julie Greene of North Augusta, SC, David Hamilton, Jr. of North Augusta, SC, Lisa Thomas of Nicholls, GA, and Sammy Story of Waycross, GA; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three sisters, Robin Hole, Joyce Park, and Patricia Curry all of Minerva, OH; three brothers, William Hamilton, James, Hamilton, and Darrell Hamilton all of Minerva; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Johnny Hamilton and three sisters, Gloria Williams, Jody Hamilton, and Evelyn Walters.
Funeral services were held on Friday, April 21, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the chapel of Sims Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Lloyd officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, P.O. Box 5115, Aiken, SC 29803. Sims Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
